I have been travelling around the Garda Lake for years, and I always feel this sensation of delight and joy that takes my breath away.
Manerba del Garda is a charming town located on the western shore of Lake Garda in northern Italy.
Known for its natural beauty, historical sites, and relaxing atmosphere, it offers a memorable experience for visitors. Upon arriving in Manerba del Garda, you are immediately greeted by breathtaking views of the glistening lake surrounded by lush green hills. The town is nestled in a picturesque setting, creating a sense of tranquility and serenity.
Things to Do
You begin your exploration by visiting the Rocca di Manerba, a medieval fortress situated on a hilltop overlooking the town and the lake. The castle ruins offer a glimpse into the area’s rich history and provide panoramic views of the surroundings, making it a perfect spot for capturing memorable photographs.
Next, you venture down to the lake’s edge, where you discover beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters. You decide to indulge in some leisurely activities such as swimming, sunbathing, or simply taking a stroll along the shore, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the area.
As you wander through the narrow streets of the town, you come across charming local shops and cafes. You take the opportunity to sample some delicious Italian cuisine, savoring traditional dishes like pasta, pizza, and gelato, accompanied by a glass of local wine.
As you board a boat and set sail across the expansive waters, marveling at the scenic landscape and the picturesque towns dotting the shoreline. The boat trip provides a unique perspective of the lake, allowing you to fully appreciate its grandeur.
where to enjoy a meal
Let’s be honest… you will get to know me sooner or later… I have a penchant for delicious food. This passion is one of the three common threads and topic of my Blog. I’ll give you some suggestion on where to eat, if you allow me.
Absolutely… at the Marina!
When in Manerba, I usually prefer to go to Ristorante da Rino, at Lido di Manerba. The attentive service and warm hospitality of Da Rino’s staff make me feel welcomed and well taken care of.
Da Rino takes pride in its menu, which showcases the best of Italian seafood cuisine, with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. The dishes are crafted with precision and creativity, respecting the lake tradition.
To start your culinary journey at Da Rino, you might indulge in their bruschetta. Slices of toasted bread are generously topped with ripe tomatoes, fragrant basil, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. The simplicity of this dish allows the quality of the ingredients to shine through.
If you have a penchant for seafood, like myself, Da Rino offers an assortment of fresh catches from Lake Garda. You might be tempted by their grilled lake fish, perfectly seasoned and served with a side of vibrant seasonal vegetables. The delicate flavors of the fish highlight the quality of the ingredients and the culinary expertise of the chef.
If you are a pasta lover, Da Rino offers an array of pasta dishes that are sure to satisfy. Their homemade pasta is a standout, cooked to perfection and paired with a variety of sauces. For example, you might savour the tagliatelle al ragù, if you prefer the meat.
As the meal comes to a close, the dessert options at Da Rino are not to be missed. Indulge in a classic tiramisu, where layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers are interspersed with a velvety mascarpone cream. It’s a decadent treat that provides the perfect ending to your experience.
fashion inspo
When it comes to the Garda Lake I use to wear either a caftan, a bikini and a large straw hat to protect my head from the sun or a casual apparel to be comfortable while visiting the city or the Rocca.
I will not give you any specific details this time. Just say “arrivederci” with a smile.
